Modavie: A Gem in Old Port

The Old Port of Montreal carries with it a certain ambience. It takes you away from your everyday life in Montreal and no one can deny there is something magical about it. When spending a day walking around you are bound to work up an appetite. One day this summer my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Modavie. It is a restaurant with a wine bar and live jazz. I never dreamed I would ever be eating braised lamb in a mille feuille, it was a spectacular experience. Highly recommend this, The waitress was very good at pairing the wine to the meal. I don’t however recommend the steak, at least when we went it did not meet the same standards as the lamb. Very memorable experience. We will have to return when the Jazz is playing I’m sure this adds to the ambience. (We were too hungry to wait!)

This braised lamb mille feuille gets the Savouring stamp of approval

Ambience= Fun Jazzy décor, great for a date

Service= Good but could have been better with our steak mishap since I ended up eating alone

For Lovers of Indian Food

Dev Restaurant is a quaint Indian restaurant and although it may not look like much on the outside I guarantee it will blow you away, Everyone loves samosas but their chana samosa is heaven on earth. So many flavours exploding in your mouth at once. Usually I get their Thali which is great for everyone. If you’re new to Indian food this will get you hooked for life so be warned! Not only is the food amazing but two people can leave feeling absolutely stuffed having only spent $25.00…definitely my favorite Indian restaurant thus far.
